North Highway 101 (11 miles)

Past Petaluma take Old Redwood Highway and Penngrove exit, turn right. After 1.5 miles, turn right at small sign that says Penngrove/Sonoma State Univerisity onto main St./Petaluma Hill Rd. Continue 2.5 miles. Right on Roberts Rd. (street sign) for 4 miles. At fork (red STOP sign) turn right onto Sonoma Mountain Road. Continue 3 miles. Turn left at white sign to lower parking area.

South Highway 101 (10 miles)

Take Highway 12/Sonoma exit off free way, then exit on E street, bear right onto Bennett Valley Rd. Go 2.5 miles. turn right at traffic light, continuing on Bennett Valley for 2 more miles. Note: Fire station on left. Turn right on Sonoma Mountain Rd. street sign). Go 2 miles Be sure to stay on the left at large fork to stay on sonoma Mountain Rd. continue 3 miles. Turn left at white sign to lower parking area.

From Sonoma, Highway 12 (10 miles)

Due to the heavy rains Sonoma Mountain road has been blocked coming from the Glen Ellen side until further notice. However, if you don't mind the walk you can leave your car at the road-block and walk 1/8 mile to SMZC (only 5 min. walk). 1/28/06

DETOUR

Turn left at sign for the town of Glen Ellen (Arnold Dr.). After the fire station in the center of town, turn right at Warm Springs Rd. Go past the turnoff to Sonoma Mountain Road until you come to a "T" in the road. thee will be two signs: A right hand turn to Kenwood (DO NOT TAKE) and a left hand turn to Santa Rosa and Bennett Valley Road. Take the left hand turn and this road becomes Bennett Valley Road. Follow this road for a while until you come to Sonoma Mountain Road. Turn left onto Sonoma Mountain Road. If you pass a fire station you have gone too far.

Bus and Air Travelers

If you need to be picked up at the airport shuttle or Golden Gate Transit bus stop in Santa Rosa, we will do it before 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost is $20 roundtrip. Air travelers should arrange their flights so they land at San Francisco or Oakland Airport by 2 p.m.. Please take the Sonoma County Airport Express and get off at Double Tree Hotel in Rohnert Park.
